Dr. Zhen Hou
Dr Zhen Hou is a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery, and Complex Hernia Surgery. She completed her General Surgical Training in the Hunter New England Surgical Network, and was awarded her General Surgical Fellowship in 2016. She subsequently underwent 2 further years of Colorectal subspecialty post-fellowship training at Gosford, and Royal North Shore Hospitals, with a special interest in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. She is a member of GESA, with accreditation in upper and lower endoscopy. Zhen has also undergone further post-fellowship experience in the area of complex hernia surgery, and has previously worked with Professor Nabeel Ibrahim at Macquarie University Hospital.
Zhen has a keen interest in teaching, and is involved in the training and teaching of surgical trainees, junior doctors, and medical students at Gosford and Wyong hospitals. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Surgical Skills Education and Training (ASSET) faculty, and regularly participates in formal teaching of surgical candidates.
Zhen is currently a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Gosford and Wyong hospitals, and an accredited Consultant Surgeon at Gosford Private and Tuggerah Lakes Private hospitals.
